Garlic for growing long and healthy natural hair

I remember when I was working at the Int airport, my Indian Boss always walked in smelling of raw garlic; how I hated moving close to him when he talked to me but today, i know better, he is wise. Did i ever imagine garlic as one good ingredient for growing long and healthy natural hair? No. As we all know, garlic has an awful odor that sends people far away from you if you are a consumer but just before you dismiss it completely like i did in the days of ignorance, let me tell you that garlic is one element that has been valued, for over 5,000 years for its ability to provide benefits ranging from acne free bright and healthy skin to thick, lustrous hair.

The work of garlic to hair makes it a necessity; you just can’t ignore making it part of your hair regime especially for the “diys” (do it yourself) ladies. Garlic is rich in compounds like Allicin, Sulfur, Zinc and Calcium that have health benefits, beauty benefits as well as antibiotic and anti fungal properties.

It is also a rich source of a mineral known as selenium. Selenium is known to fight cancer and it works with vitamin E in the body to boost antioxidant power. Garlic also acts as a blood thinner due to its salicylic content. This enables proper blood flow and enhances circulatory health. Garlic, also known as the “Wonder Drug,” is highly enriched with medicinal properties.

It is enriched with compounds like calcium, zinc and various other minerals. Its properties of killing germs and bacteria help in fighting against various bacterial infections. The compound known as selenium present in garlic helps in curing the cancerous cells and stimulates the flow of hemoglobin in the body. Garlic assists in attaining an excellent hair growth and helps in preventing hair fall.

It helps in aiding growth in hair follicles and eliminates harmful substances from the scalp. Garlic helps improve the texture of your hair and strengthens the roots. The compound allicin present in garlic helps in increasing the circulation of hemoglobin towards the scalp, thus minimizing hair fall to a great extent. The compound sulphur minimizes the seriousness of dandruff and also prevents it from returning. Garlic is highly enriched with copper which helps in hair growth. Copper helps in making hair strong and thick.

Raw garlic is highly enriched with Vitamin C which is great for the health of your hair. Garlic also contains iron which aids blood flow to the hair follicles. However, it’s recommended that garlic be used in either of these ways only twice a month, as over usage can cause aridness of hair and scalp. Since honey is a natural conditioner, you can add it along with the garlic. This will help smoothen the hair as well as reduce the smell of garlic. Another alternative is to add some ginger along with garlic to eliminate odor.

The properties and minerals present in ginger provide nourishment and also help attain beautiful and healthy hair. Submerging garlic pods in olive oil for seven days will help prevent hair fall. This should be applied on the hair and scalp and left overnight. Wash it off the next day.

The aromatic spice can be crushed and the juice can be directly applied over the scalp and strands of hair. The juice can be applied either at night or morning as per your convenience. Keep this on for a few minutes. Wash off properly with a good shampoo or a conditioner.

I’m going to show you a homemade recipe for making a very efficient garlic hair conditioner; however, you should expect your hair to smell weird for some few hours! Why are garlic hair conditioners beneficial for your hair? It’s because garlic is going to make your hair less difficult to process and extremely smooth, garlic is also going to stop hair shedding and even increase hair growth in some area of your hair like on the sides and the front of your head.

However, the most important benefit for using a garlic hair conditioner is adding thickness and strength to the hairs; in fact, using a hair conditioner containing garlic is one of the best ways to increase the thickness and the vitality and health of your hair safely and efficiently. Some ladies keep asking; how do i thicken my hair? This is one of the remedies. Here is how to make one of the best homemade garlic hair conditioner: You will need at least ten garlic cloves, you need to peel them and crush them, you will also need four tablespoons of extra virgin olive oil, one tablespoon of black seed oil, five drops of tea tree oil, and 2 tablespoons of melted Shea butter.

The next thing you need to do is to add the garlic cloves to a blender, then start blending and immediately start adding the olive oil, when the paste have thickened and the garlic fibers have been blended perfectly, you need to take the mixture from the blender, then use a strainer and only keep the garlic juice and olive oil, then add all the other essential oils, however you need to warm the Shea butter a little so it can mix well with the other oils. This would result in thick and smelly oil that will become solid in your fridge. Every day, apply at least one tablespoon to your hair and pay careful attention to your hair roots and scalp, it’s where this garlic hair conditioner is most needed. Let’s talk now about the smell!

This is how you get rid of it: after applying this garlic hair conditioner, simply wait for at least twenty minutes while covering your hair with a shower cap, and then use a very thick and rich shampoo.

I will suggest any good fragrance shampoo, conditioner and detangler eg Avon conditioner, or Aunty Jackie’s shampoo and detangler just to fight off the smell.
